Master of Communication Arts Program in Communications aims to provide students with the understanding and the ability to apply communication theories on various levels, along with the methodology, forms of communications, and the ability to utilize such knowledge in professional situations, especially local communication which matches the global context, while also allowing them to develop communication arts research to benefit organizations and the country that are both academically and practically valuable.

         Master of Communication Arts Program in Communications began its teaching in 2008. Most graduated students received job opportunities in the government and private sector, with some operating their own private businesses. Since its foundation, there have been 2 programs revisions in 2013 and 2018. The teaching and learning process shifted from theoryfocused to theoryandapplicationfocused, while improving the program to be contemporary to the current world and communication technology advancement. It is currently being improved and further developed for students of 2023.

          Master of Communication Arts Program in Communications provides 2 study plans. The first is designed for students who are interested in a researchfocused study. Therefore, students are required to study at least 24 credits of course work and 12 credits of learning the research process from the beginning up to the conference presentation or publishing. The second plan is designed for students with 12 years of working experience. In this plan, students are required to study at least 30 credits of course work, along with 6 credits of learning the research process from the beginning up to the conference presentation or publishing. The student intake capacity of plan 1 is lower due to the criteria of research advisors.

          In its teaching and learning process, the program embraces existentialism, believing that all subjects are equally important. The lecturers are tasked with attempting to make students learn about themselves and express as much of their potential as they can. The program also employs participatory learning in its process by learning from case studies, inviting experts, focusing on practical training as written in the ELO of the program and CLO of each course. In addition, the program also introduces media ethics to its students to ensure studentscompetence in all aspects. To guarantee that its students will graduate in a way that was determined by the programs ELO, the Master of Communication Arts Program in Communications established the advisors system to provide consultation and regular followups to studentsgrades. The program also organizes academically beneficial projects such as Communication Research Clinic, Approaches to Theories and Analysis for Media & Communication Thesis Project, and Academic Seminar Project”.

         The majority of the programs lecturers graduate on a doctoral level while holding expertise in various topics such as media management, public media communication, marketing communication, community communication, and utilizing media tools through research. The lecturers create academic work and undergo training regularly. Successful experts, professionals, and neu arts are invited to teach students and to exchange knowledge, along with reviewing studentsresearch.

In terms of the student intake process, the Master of Communication Arts Program in Communications welcomes all students from all academic backgrounds by considering their interest in communication arts. The program aims to intake 5 students in plan A (plan 1) and 15 students in plan B. (plan 2) However, the number of students reduced in 2020 due to external factors: economic factors and the Covid19 pandemic. During such time, the program took the opportunity to better tend the current students while managing those who will graduate soon.

         To manage the course to be effective and quality: The university has required that all programs be assessed for educational quality assurance. Master of Communication Arts program has been assessed by the Office of the Higher Education Commission criteria since 2014. The curriculum has been developed on the recommendation of the Commission. In 2021, BEC has a policy for all Programs to be assessed using the AUN QA criteria. The curriculum has established a working group to be responsible for such implementation. The SAR team will undergo training to understand the AUN QA Version 4 criteria for successful implementation.
